HMBA Committees

Budget Committee  

Chair: Mike McFarland  
Committee Objective: Work with FNMA, FHLMC and FHA to bring products to the marketplace that will assist Emerging Market home buyers to qualify for home loans. Will also work with local associations (i.e. Houston Association of Realtors, Urban League, etc.) to provide affordable housing to underserved markets. The committee will focus on education and counseling for this segment of potential home buyers.  
Community Outreach & Service Committee  

Chair: Mack Gibson  
Committee Objective: Focus on Houston Mortgage Bankers Association. Events including education classes, lobbying efforts and networking.  
Industry Liaison Committee
  

Chair: Damon Leonetti  
Committee Objective: Focus on Houston Mortgage Bankers Association. Events including education classes, lobbying efforts and networking.  
Meetings Committee
  

Chair: David Bravo  
Committee Objective: Provide opportunities for our members and guests to meet outside the office to hear interesting speakers, learn about various challenges facing our industry, create relationships among our peers, share ideas, and have fun. Our monthly meetings allow or members to network with other industry leaders, who by working together can make a difference on political issues that affect our industry.  
Membership Committee  

Chair: Trey Bell  
Committee Objective: Expand the membership base by 20% by being more pro-active in the solicitation of members. Members gain access to industry leaders and decision makers. Member benefit information will be distributed thorough the HMBA website and by written method. Members will receive questionnaires requesting their involvement and input towards the initiatives of the association. All members are encouraged to get other associates in their companies involved in the HMBA.  
Education Committee
  

Chair: Sheri Gilbert
  
Committee Objective: Facilitate education and training seminars by working with FNMA, FHLMC and FHA. Focus will be on DU/LP training, processing training for new processors and loan officers, fraud detection and prevention, etc.  
Social & Recreational Committee  

Chair: Jeff Charbonneau  
Committee Objective: Provide opportunities for our members to meet outside the office to share ideas build friendships and have fun. The committee will continue to host golf tournaments in the spring and fall, and will research other events that will encourage our members to participate and build relationships. These events will generate funds to support the efforts of our organization, and will allow us to sponsor community projects to strengthen our reputation as a concerned organization in the community.
